Join the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) for a moderately paced hike through a northern section of the Bay Circuit Trail near Ipswich, MA. This point-to-point hike that will cover 11 miles with relatively little elevation gain (~2 substantial hills, <500 ft total). The mileage is high but with little elevation, the pace will be moderate, around 1.5-2 mph. We expect to be outdoors for at least 6 hours, travelling through Appleton Farms, Pingree Reservation, Bradley Palmer State Park, and Willowdale State Forest. This will be a great opportunity to get outside in late fall before the snow starts falling. Come spend a Saturday enjoying all of the unique nature so close to Boston- pine swamps, grasslands, and woodlands, migratory birds (especially hawks), and all the wildlife that call these lands home. This hike is ideal for someone in good hiking shape looking to spend a day outside enjoying nature with other like-minded enthusiasts. There will be an opportunity for those who wish to share a meal together afterwards in nearby Ipswich.
Carpooling participants welcome- pick up can be arranged from Oak Grove Station on the Orange Line.

Note: This is an Appalachian Mountain Club volunteer-run trip. Registration is required (Facebook RSVP does not guarantee a spot), at which point the meet-up/starting location will be shared. see https://activities.outdoors.org/search/index.cfm/action/details/id/109184#baycircuittrail
